Liquid crystal substrates containing three benzene rings were prepared,and then the main-chain liquid crystal polymers were synthesized by silica-hydrogen addition utilizing hydrogen-capped polysiloxane as chain expander.The obtained polymers were characterized by 1H-NMR,DSC,FTIR,and POM.The NMR of the monomer and polymer demonstrated that the relatively pure liquid crystal substrate monomers and polymers had been prepared.The FT-IR test results showed that the corresponding structures further confirmed the expected results.The DSC and POM results for monomer and polymer indicated that the monomer and the polymer after silica-hydrogen addition had good liquid crystallinity,which validated the rationality of the molecular design and provided some empirical basis for the synthesis of main-chain liquid crystalline polymers.
