Influence of CF statistical characteristics on mechanical property of CFRP

Abstract

Taking T700 grade domestic and imported carbon fiber(CF) as the research object,the monofilament tensile strength of both kinds of CF were studied by using Weibull method,and analyzed the statistical distribution characteristics of the continuous fiber with Minitab.The discrete characteristics of the tensile strength of CFRP were analyzed through NOL ring.The failure mode of CFRP was analyzed through the failure morphology of the FW composites cylinders.The research showed that the monofilament tensile strength of domestic carbon fiber was poorer than the imported one.The range of long-distance tensile strength of domestic carbon fiber was larger and the minimum value was lower than the import carbon fiber,it had brought about some weakened locations and so the failures frequently occurred.This was properly the main reason that why domestic carbon fiber showed a lower strength conversion rate than imported one.
