Abstract

Layered Double Hydroxide (LDH) and its composites show high catalytic performance in the electrocatalytic decomposition of water, and are considered to be the most promising electrolytic water catalysts.Based on the chemical composition and structural properties of the material, the latest research progress of LDH and its modification as electrode materials in the process of electrocatalytic water splitting was reviewed.Focusing on the relationship between the internal structure of the material and the electrocatalytic performance, the successful hybridization of LDH with carbon materials and metal compounds can increase the electron transmission rate, thereby improving the catalytic activity. The catalytic activity of single-layer LDH was significantly higher than that of bulk materials LDH.The related strategies of this kind of materials in design and synthesis were summarized, and prospected the development of LDH group in electrocatalysis.
