In order to utilize poultry feathers effectively and prepare high-performance composite materials,feather fiber/epoxy resin(EP) composites were prepared by thermal curing with feather fiber as filler and EP as matrix.The mechanical,dynamic mechanical and thermal properties of the composites were studied.The results showed that the chemical reaction between feather fiber and EP enhanced the interfacial interaction.The impact strength first increased and then decreased with the increase of feather fiber content.When the fiber content was 2%,the toughness reached the maximum value.With the increase of feather fiber content,the flexural strength,flexural modulus and storage modulus of the composites increased first and then decreased.The filling of feather fibers increased the glass transition temperature and the thermal stability of the composites.The strengthening and toughening effect of feather fibers on EP can provide a possible choice for the effective use of abandoned feathers.
