Abstract

As the core componet of industrial robots,the lightweight design of robot arm has been widely conserned by researchers.The finite element method was used to analysis the carbon fiber reinforced epoxy composite (CFRP) robot arm.Meanwhile,the lightweight design of CFRP robot arm with variable wall thickness was determined.The weight of CFRP robot arm was decreased 90.9% than that of aluminium alloy robot arm on the premise of meeting the requirements of strength and stiffness.
