This work combined visible-light curing technology with emulsion polymerization technology for the preparation of composite emulsions with nano-scale.OMMT/Polymethyl methacrylate nanocomposite emulsions were successfully prepared by using methyl methacrylate as a monomer and a two-component photoinitiating system consisting of fluorescent brightener and diphenyl iodonium hexafluorophosphate upon exposure to visible-light LED@430 nm.The results revealed that OMMT modified by the higher concentration of CTAB promoted the conversion of monomer under the same conditions.More importantly,this visible-light induced emulsion polymerization effectively improved the efficiency of the traditional preparation method of nano-composite emulsion.Under the irradiation of visible-light LED,the composite emulsions with nano-scale was efficiently prepared in only 30min.
