Abstract

Metal organic framework materials (MOFs) as a new type of porous material with good chemical stability, structural diversity and high surface area have a broad application prospect in heavy metal removal. The classification, application and synthetic method of MOFs materials were introduced. The synthesis methods of MOFs were compared from different aspects. The adsorption performance and mechanism of heavy metal ions from aqueous solution by different MOFs (MIL,ZIF and Uio-66) and different modified MOFs were reviewed. Finally, the future research direction of MOFs materials in removing heavy metals from aqueous solution was proposed.
