Magnetic chitosan/ diatomite(Fe3O4@CS/DE) composite was prepared by solution blending,chemical crosslinking and ultrasonic dispersion.The structure and morphology of the materials were analyzed by FT-IR,SEM,XRD.Methyl orange(MO) in dye wastewater was selected as target pollutant.The effects of pH,temperature and the dosage of Fe3O4@CS/DE on methyl orange adsorption was investigated.The adsorption kinetics and isotherm type were also studied.The experimental results shown that adsorption equilibrium was reached at 100min,the adsorption capacity for methyl orange reached 3.81mg/g in 20mg/L methyl orange solution,when pH 6,temperature 30℃ and the dosage of Fe3O4@CS/DE 4g/L.The adsorption process conformed to pseudo-second-order model (R22=0.993) and freundlich isotherms adsorption model.The adsorption was related multi-site non-monolayer molecules monolayer.
