The adsorption performance of modified blast furnace slag onto Ce3+ was studied by using blast furnace slag modified by hydrochloric acid as adsorbent.The physicochemical properties of modified blast furnace slag were characterized by scanning electron microscopy and specific surface area and porosity analyzer.The adsorption mechanism of modified blast furnace slag on Ce3+ was discussed from the perspective of kinetics and thermodynamics.The results shown that: the saturated adsorption capacity of Ce3+ was 11.95mg/g in the case of Ce3+ concentration of 100mg/L,ambient temperature of 25℃,modified blast furnace slag dosage of 0.3g,adsorption time of 2 h,and pH value of 7.The adsorption behavior was consistent with the pseudo-second-order kinetic adsorption model and the Langmuir isotherm adsorption model.It was indicated that the adsorption of Ce3+ by modified blast furnace slag was monolayer chemical adsorption.
