A cationic waterborne polyurethane (CiPU) containing an amphiphilic group in the molecular chain was synthesized by using castor oil modified glycol (AC006),hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) and N-methyl diethanolamine (MDEA) as main raw materials.CiPU/Bs phase change microcapsules were prepared by suspension polymerization using self-made CiPU as wall material and butyl stearate (Bs) as core material.The chemical structure and molecular weight of CiPU were characterized by FT-IR and GPC,the stability of CiPU/Bs phase change microcapsule suspension was studied.The particle size,morphology and thermal stability of CiPU/Bs were characterized by dynamic light scattering,transmission electron microscopy (TEM),differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric (TG) analysis.The results shown that the CiPU/Bs had a spherical uniform distribution and a distinct core-shell structure.The wall of the capsule was about 50nm.It had good elasticity,the particle size was about 1μm.Moreover,the amount of core material was increased,and the particle size was also increased.The phase transition temperature was 27.7℃,the phase transition enthalpy was 24.8J/g,the encapsulation rate was 80%,and the heat resistant temperature was 230℃.
