Novel porous poly(styrene-hydroxyethyl acrylate-diethylbenzene)/Fe3O4 microspheres were prepared by a one-pot method via a phase inversion process.In this technique,the mixture containing nano-Fe3O4 particles,styrene,hydroxyethyl acrylate,diethylbenzene and the porogen cyclohexane were firstly pre-polymerized for a while,and then the surfactant mixture and aqueous solution were added.Under a high-speed stirring,the reaction system was transformed from water-in-oil system to oil-in-water system.After a following polymerization,porous magnetic polystyrene copolymer composite microspheres were obtained.The microstructures and properties of the microspheres were characterized and analyzed using transmission electron microscopy,laser particle size distribution analyzer,infrared spectrometer,BET surface area measurement and DSC-TGA synchronous thermal analyzer.The results showed that the prepared porous magnetic polystyrene copolymer composite microspheres were spherical or near-spherical morphology with Fe3O4 particles dispersed inside unevenly,and the particle size was mainly in the range of 1~10μm.The isothermal adsorption and desorption curve showed a type IV with an H3 hysteresis loop.The pore sizes ranged from 3 to 70nm.The content of Fe3O4 in the microspheres was about 25.86%.
