A series of environment-friendly colorful near-infrared reflective pigments were prepared by hydrothermal method and liquid phase deposition method with a structural formula of HGM/BiFe1-xAlxO3 (x=0,0.1,0.2,0.3 and 0.4).The structure,morphology and optical properties of the pigments were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and UV-Vis-NIR spectrophotometer.The results showed that the prepared BiFe1-xAlxO3 was uniformly deposited on the surface of hollow glass microspheres (HGM).With the increase of Al3+ doping,the band gap of the pigment increased from 1.81eV to 2.02eV,the color of the powder changed from reddish brown to yellow,and the near-infrared reflectance of the pigment reached up to 87.16%.The reflectivity of the coating prepared from them was higher than that of conventional coatings with similar colors.Moreover,the pigments had good chemical stability,and they were expected to be used as “cold” pigments in building thermal insulation and other coatings.
