Abstract

Solar steam generation is one of the most effective means to solve the problem of lack of fresh water for drinking. It has the characteristics of green,pollution-free,clean and high energy utilization. However, the traditional volume solar steam generation has the problems of high equipment investment and low energy efficiency, which limits its further development. In recent years, the solar energy driven water evaporation only occurs at the interface between water and air by the floating solar steam generation in which the photothermal conversion material is placed on the surface of the seawater. The problem of low energy conversion efficiency caused by heating the whole water by traditional volume seawater desalination is overcame.Based on this, the research of new floating solar photothermal evaporation materials has gradually become a hot spot. The basic characteristics and preparation methods of floating solar photothermal conversion materials and their properties in solar steam generation were introduced. Finally, the development direction of solar steam materials was summarized and prospected.
