Abstract: Hollow mesoporous silica microspheres(HMSMs),possessing remarkable structural characteristics such as large pore volume,controlled outer mesoporous structure,high specific surface area,good biocompatibility and so on,are widely used in many fields,such as drug storage and release,nano-reactor,catalysis,adsorption,etc.A variety of methods have been reported to prepare successfully HMSMs.Various preparation methods of HMSMs were reviewed,including template method,selective etching method and spray drying method.Meanwhile,the advantages and limitations of these methods were discussed,and the application prospect of HMSMs was also prospected.
