Abstract: Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) are a new type of zero-dimensional carbon nanomaterial,which are different from the conventional carbon materials.Because of the quantum confinement and edge effects,it shows important application values in the chemical industry fields of catalysis,detection,biomedicine and sensors.Therefore,the preparation and application of GQDs has rapidly become one of the hot topics in the field of graphene research.The development of preparation and application of GQDs was reviewed.The problems that need to be solved and the future development trend and prospects were discussed.
