Poly(methyl methacrylate-methyl methacrylate) (PMMS) latex particles loaded with SiO2 on the surface with particle size of about 300nm were synthesized by Pickering emulsion polymerization using methyl methacrylate (MAA) and methacrylic acid (MAA) as monomers and SiO2 as stabilizer.The fluid aqueous PMMS dispersions formed a solid gel by raising pH value.The mixtures of PMMS and gelatin also formed composite hydrogel with self-healing ability through adjusting pH value.The microstructure of the gel was observed by scanning electron microscopy.The dynamic rheometer was used to characterize the viscoelastic and self-healing properties of the gel.The results shown that the gelatin/PMMS composite hydrogels had good self-healing properties.
