A novel hyperbranched polyphosphoramide (HBPPA) charring agent,containing P and N elements as well as triazine and benzene rings,was successfully prepared by one-pot method (A2+B3) from melamine (MEL) and phenyl dichlorophosphate (PDCP).XPS and 1H-NMR were used to analyze the chemical structure of HBPPA.With the addition of 25wt%(APP∶HBPPA=3∶1) of intumescent flame retardant,PP composite passed V0 rating at UL-94 test and its limiting oxygen index was increased to 30.6%.
