Poly[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate]-b-Poly[1H,1H,7H-dodecafluoroheptyl methacrylate](PDMAEMA-b-PDFHMA) block copolymers were synthesized via activators regenerated by electron transfer atom transfer radical polymerization (ARGET ATRP),and the fluoro block copolymers were applied to the preparation of hydrophobic coatings.Results showed that the PDMAEMA-b-PDFHMA block copolymers with controlled structure were successfully synthesized via ARGET ATRP.Hydrophobic SiO2 particles were formed by mixing the block copolymers with the SiO2.Hydrophobic coatings were prepared by blending the hydrophobic SiO2 particles with acrylic resin.When the weight ratio of acrylic resin to hydrophobic SiO2 was 5.5∶4.5,the coating had water contact angle of 120°(12μL of the droplets),adhesion level of 1 grade,pencil hardness of 2H and impact strength of 70 cm.
