Preparation and photocatalytic activity of TiO2/BNNSs composite

Abstract

Few-layer boron nitride nanosheets (BNNSs) were obtained with a method of ultrasound-assisted liquid-phase exfoliation in a monoethanolamine-water binary system.The composite photocatalyst of TiO2/BNNSs was successfully prepared by hydrothermal synthesis using BNNSs as carrier.FT-IR,Raman,XRD,XPS and SEM were used to characterize the structure and morphology of BNNSs and TiO2/BNNSs.Moreover,the catalytic activity of the sample was investigated by the degradation of methylene blue (MB).It was found that the degradation rate of MB can reach 96.43% and the catalyst exhibited good recyclability.
