Abstract

The reuse of biodiesel and waste plastics is of great significance to environmental protection. In order to study the effects of the biodiesel-plastic cracking wax compound modifier on the properties of asphalt, the three major indexes, dynamic shear rheological (DSR),more stress creep (MSCR) and brinell rotary viscosity (RV) test, were used.Through the penetration, softening point, ductility, rutting factor, elastic recovery rate, irrecoverable creep compliance, and viscosity etc.indexes, the effects of different proportion and content of biodiesel to plastic cracking wax on asphalt modification were evaluated. The results shown that the softening point and recovery rate of asphalt decreased and the high temperature performance decreased with the addition of biodiesel. After compound modification of plastic cracking wax, asphalt rutting factor increased and high temperature performance was improved. The biodiesel-plastic cracking wax compound modified asphalt with appropriate content met the standard of warm mixing, and had good high temperature performance.According to the test results, the composite modified asphalt with a content of 1.5% biodiesel and 5% plastic cracking wax had the best comprehensive performance.
