Preparation of activated carbon with high specific surface area from Salix psammophila

Abstract

Salix psammophila resource is abundant due to its growth characteristics.The preparation of activated carbon with high specific surface area from salix can further expand its application area.By exploring the effects of material ratio,activation temperature,and activation time on the adsorption capacity of activated carbon,the key process parameters were obtained,that was 1∶5∶45,700℃,and 1.5h,respectively.The specific surface area of prepared activated carbon reached 2693m2/g,and their micropores were well-developed.A small number of mesopores existed in the range of 2~4nm.
