Influence of Ca-Mg-Al layered double oxide with different interlayer anions on CO2 adsorption performance

Abstract

Ca-Mg-Al layered double oxides were synthesized with different interlayer anions (chlorate,nitrate and acetate) by calcination of Ca-Mg-Al layered double hydroxides prepared via a simple hydrothermal method,in order to investigate the effect of interlayer anions on CO2 adsorption performances for Ca-Mg-Al layered double oxides.The structure,morphology and adsorption properties of the samples were analyzed by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscope and thermogravimetric analysis,respectively.The results showed that,the structure,morphology and adsorption properties of Ca-Mg-Al oxides synthesized under different interlayer anions were quite different.The adsorbent prepared with nitrate as precursor using urea of 72mmol for 12h at 120℃ had regular layered structure and excellent CO2 adsorption performance.
