Process on surface functionalization of magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticle and the application in wastewater treatment

Abstract: Magnetic nanomaterials modified by surface functionalization can achieve functional diversity and increase its application in wastewater treatment while improving its stability.The functional modification of magnetic Fe3O4 nano-particles by inorganic materials,small organic molecules,and organic polymer materials were summarized and introduced the application process in wastewater treatment in recent researches,and described the advantages and disadvantages of various modified materials in wastewater treatment,the applications of magnetic Fe3O4 nano-adsorbed materials were prospected,and the development of a green composite adsorbent that combines the properties of synthetic-natural polymers with magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles as the substrate is a major research focus in magnetic materials for wastewater treatment in the future.
