Adsorption properties of mesoporous nano-hydroxyapatite for Congo red dye

Abstract: The mesoporous nano-hydroxyapatite was prepared by hydrothermal synthesis process using calcium chloride,diammonium hydrogen phosphate and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as raw materials.he phase,morphology and structure of the mesoporous nano-hydroxyapatite were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis,scanning electron microscopy and specific surface area analyzer.Then,the adsorption properties of the mesoporous nano-hydroxyapatite for Congo red dye under different conditions were studied emphatically.The experiment results showed that the microscope morphology of nano-hydroxyapatite was needle-rod shape,the specific surface area was 29.7376m2/g,the average pore size was 41.558nm,and the pore volume was 0.325196cm3/g.The mesoporous nano-hydroxyapatite had good adsorption performance for Congo red dye.When the pH of solution was 7,the adsorption effect of mesoporous nano-hydroxyapatite for Congo red dye was the best,and the maximum adsorption capacity could reach 183.77mg/g.It was known through model fitting that the adsorption process of Congo red by mesoporous nano-hydroxyapatite conformed to the quasi-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isothermal adsorption model,which belonged to a spontaneous endothermic process.In conclusion,mesoporous nano-hydroxyapatite could be used as a green biological adsorbent for dye adsorption.
