Study on preparation and frictional wear performance for carbon fiber composite of polyether ketone resin

Abstract: Poly (ether ether ketone) was widely used in automotive parts,semiconductor manufacturing,compressor sections and other related fields,due to its excellent heat resistance,flame retardancy and electrical insulation.In order to realize the high performance of PEEK,it can be applied to the areas where the requirements for wear resistance were high,such as valve plates and sealing rings,to achieve the purpose of replacing metal materials.PEEK/graphene oxide-zinc oxide/carbon fiber composites were successfully prepared by hot-press molding.First,GO and Zno were reacted at 180℃ for 12 hours in a high-temperature reactor,then the modified graphene oxide and PEEK were mixed and then heat-pressed with a carbon fiber plain weave.The friction and wear properties,thermal stability and mechanical properties of composites were investigated.The test results showed that the manufactured PEEK/GO-ZnO/CF composites presented excellent comprehensive properties when the modified graphene content reached 1.5wt%.Under the condition of 25℃,the wear rate was 13×10-6mm3/Nm,tensile strength reached 265MPa,bending strength was 262.7MPa.
