Abstract: The nano-SiO2/PTFE modified acrylate emulsion was prepared by in-situ polymerization and seed emulsion polymerization with trihydroxymethylpropyl trimethylacrylate(TMPTA),methyl methacrylate(MMA),styrene(St),butyl acrylate(BA),tridecyl methacrylate(TDMA),ethyl silicate(TEOS) and γ-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(MPS) as monomer, and PTFE dispersion liquid as seeds. The structure and properties of polymers were characterized and tested by FT-IR,TEM,SEM,TG and water contact angle measurement. The results showed that when the amount of PTFE dispersion was 16% and nano-SiO2 content was 2.4%,the average particle size of emulsion was 151nm and the surface water film contact angle was 112.3°,the water absorption rate was 3.8%,the characteristic decomposition temperature at 5% and 10% weight loss were 347.7℃ and 375.5℃,compared with the pure acrylate decomposition temperature increased by 59.6° and 27.7° respectively. The hydrophobic resistance and heat resistance were significant to improve.
