Abstract: Epoxy resin can not be used in high-end application because of its poor toughness.In order to solve the problem and increase the thermal properties of epoxy resin,it was presented that the multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) with different aspect ratios and montmorillonite (MMT) were treated by acidification and organic treatment respectively.The MWNTs,MMT and epoxy resin were prepared into three-phase epoxy nanocomposite by solution blending method.Results showed that when the carbon nanotubes content was 1(wt)%,the impact strength of C-MWNTs40-60/O-MMT/EP and C-MWNTs10-20/O-MMT/EP were 107.1%,127.9% higher than that of unmodified epoxy resin.The thermal decomposition temperature of C-MWNTs40-60/O-MMT/EP and C-MWNTs10-20/O-MMT/EP were 20℃,21℃ higher than that of unmodified epoxy resin.Martin heat resistant temperature of C-MWNTs40-60/O-MMT/EP and C-MWNTs10-20/O-MMT/EP were 12.4℃,13.8℃ higher than that of unmodified epoxy resin.
