Abstract: Self-healing materials using hollow fibers can repair the damaged parts by releasing self-healing agent form hollow fibers.Comparing with self-healing materials using microcapsule,this method has advantages.One is that hollow fiber can contain more agent than microcapsules.The other is hollow fibers with weaving network structure can greatly enhance the mechanical properties of matrix materials.These features make the self-healing materials using hollow fibers with a good application future in terms of materials structure design.The hollow glass tube,hollow glass fiber,and polymer hollow fibers as healing agent container were briefly introduced.The existing problems were discussed,which will help to put forward the prospect of future research.
